Marwan(1967) was born in AL-Hassaka,Syria.
In 2000 he graduated from the Academy of Arts in Arnhem(Holland).
In his work Marwan brings Eastern and Western culture together,as well in the technigues he uses as in the themes that inspire him.
The subjects can be reduced to freedom, being a stranger/foreigner and duality.
His paintings,being a statement of his experiences on these subjects,are realistic,simple and powerful.
In his work he always leaves room for the spectators interpretation.
In 2000 he became third at the Nederlandse grafiekprijs(Dutch price for Graphic Art)
